I don’t talk about music much here (and maybe that’s because anyone who mentions Handel and U2 in the same breath oughtn’t be allowed that privilege), but I’m going now.

Why?

Well, mostly because I want to, and also because they’re really, really good (again, this is from a person who blithely mentions Handel and U2 in the same sentence).

They’re called Libera, and they’re a boys’ choir based in London. I absolutely love Stay With Me and I am the Day. I just heard We Are the Lost and almost started crying.

So anyway, if you like choir/hymn type music, I’d recommend you check them. Here’s the link to their YouTube station: http://www.youtube.com/user/liberaofficial.

We are the lost who lived and loved
We felt the dawn saw sunset glow
For now we lie in row on row
In Flanders fields

O lux beata lumina
Lumina

The larks fly high where guns destroyed
Now poppies grow and crosses show
Where now we lie in Flanders fields
In row on row

Time like an ever-rolling stream
Bears all its sons away
They fly forgotten as a dream
Dies at the break of day

We shall not sleep who lived and loved
Who felt the dawn saw sunset glow
If you break faith with us who lied
In Flanders fields

O lux beata lumina
Lumina

From failing hands we throw the torch
Our light be yours to hold it high
For now we lie in Flanders fields
In row on row

Time like an ever-rolling stream
Bears all its sons away
They fly forgotten as a dream
Dies at the break of day

O lux beata lumina
Our light be yours
